Measurement of Glomerular Filtration Rate with Radionuclide Plasma Clearence Method

Abstract
To assess the rate measured by Russell's plasma clearence method of radionuclide, 75 subjects (63 patients and 12 normal volunteers) were studied by Russell's 99mTc-DTPA single injection single sampling single injection two samling plasma
clearence
method and creatinine clearence.
@ES The results were as follows:
@EN 1) Gorrelation between Russell's single injection two sample method and creatinine clearence wasy=0.89X+0.39 (r=0.78, p<0.001).
2) Correlation between creatinine clearence and Russell's single injection single sample method was y=0.67X+16.79 (r=0.81, p<0.001).
3) Correloation between Russell's two sample method and single sample method was y=1.23X-18.8 (r=0.93, <0.001).
4) Within the range of GFR 25 ml/min and 125ml/min, the correlation between Russell's single sample and two sample method was excellent (r=0.96, p<0.001).
5) Percent variation of Russell['s two sample method was lower than creatimine cleaence, significantly.
With the results above we think that Russell's single injection tow sample radionuclide plasma clearence method is more accurate and useful technique to measure glomerulr filtration rate than creatinine clearence and we can use single sample
method
for
the measurement of GFR within the range of GFR 25ml/min and k125ml/min.
